We are looking for an experienced Art Therapy Academic Expert & Lecturer to develop the clinical and practice-based component of our Master’s program and help shape its academic, professional and clinical standards.
Responsibilities
development and structuring of the clinical and practical component of the Master’s course Art Therapy & Clinical Practicum, including its academic and professional framework;
development of the content for key Art Therapy modules, including psychoanalytic foundations, work with art materials, therapeutic relationships, ethics and case management;
design of the clinical placement, supervision and students’ personal therapeutic experience framework;
definition of student readiness criteria for clinical practice, gatekeeping approaches, risk assessment and clinical safety standards;
development of practice-based learning formats, including Skills Labs, clinical case discussions, supervision sessions and assignments for the online learning environment;
development of requirements for clinical placement settings, supervisors and the organization of student placements;
contribution to the coherence and high academic quality of the Master’s program in collaboration with the Academic Lead and other subject-matter experts;
willingness to continue the collaboration as a lecturer for the Art Therapy & Clinical Practicum course, subject to mutual interest.
What we expect from you
Master’s degree in Art Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy or Clinical Psychology together with current professional registration or licensure as an Art Therapist, or at least 7–10 years of licensed clinical Art Therapy practice and formal recognition as a clinical supervisor;
hands-on experience in Art Therapy practice and clinical supervision;
strong knowledge of the Expressive Therapies Continuum, the properties and therapeutic use of art materials, and the client–image–therapist triad;
experience in clinical risk assessment, ethical and legal boundaries, and case management;
ability to translate psychoanalytic concepts into practical Art Therapy interventions and clinical work;
strong skills in clinical facilitation, supervision and providing constructive developmental feedback;
experience in developing or teaching university-level courses, particularly clinical and practice-oriented programs;
ability to design practical and expressive learning experiences for an online environment;
English proficiency at C1–C2 level for working with academic materials and conducting classes;
Russian proficiency at C1–C2 level for collaboration with the academic and instructional design team.
Will be an advantage
membership in professional Art Therapy associations and experience working in an international academic environment;
understanding of European psychotherapy regulation and experience in organizing university clinical placements.
